Director's Message

For over 30 years the City of San Antonio has overseen the provision of comprehensive Head Start services to children and families in the San Antonio and Bexar County area. Currently services are provided, through our five Education Service Providers, in 102 centers in 12 school districts. At the San Antonio and Bexar County Head Start Program we recognize the benefits to the community as a whole when we have children that are socially, emotionally, and physically healthy and strong families to support them as they learn and grow. As a result, the City of San Antonio, Head Start Policy Council, Governing Body, and our Service Providers are committed to ensuring the provision of high quality, comprehensive educational and support services to our children and families. This commitment is reflected in the many services we offer our children and families in the core areas of: education, health and safety, disability, nutrition, family support and parent involvement, and transportation.
